Welcome to Cognitive Clarity..... I'm Christina

You may be here because you are feeling sad, anxious, overwhelmed and in your own head a lot of the time. We all feel this way from time to time, but if it means you are not living the life you would like, then it may be time to seek support.

I specialise in evidence-based therapy and can help you overcome difficult thoughts, emotions and behaviours that are associated with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and trauma. I can help you gain a new perspective and share techniques that can assist you to better manage difficult thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

I understand that everyone and their experiences are unique and that there are many components that make us who we are, and for that reason I use a holistic approach in my practice, personalising each session to meet the unique needs of each individual.

I always do my utmost to develop and nurture the therapeutic relationship and work with each person in an exploratory way to ascertain what is maintaining the problem(s) and help them to recognise how their current thinking styles and behaviours may be adversely affecting them.

If you are ready to take the first step in discovering what changes you can make so that you can start moving towards living a more balanced and fulfilling life, then contact me to learn more about CBT and perhaps schedule your first session.

Small Steps & Hope

Often it's not possible to name exactly what it is that you are feeling, and you may only recognise that something does not feel right and life feels like a struggle.

You may be confused as to whether you are anxious, low or both and not know how to make positive changes.

I can help you explore what the issues are and work out what it is keeping the problem going. Starting with small steps is generally the best way when making changes, so firstly we will assess, understand the issue, formulate a treatment plan and start learning new ways to think and behave and try these out to see what happens.

Hope is a powerful emotion and I believe there is always hope. Hope for change, however small can be life altering. If we do not have hope then we tend not to do anything, we go into freeze mode and that means no change.

We all need support from time to time and getting help to make changes, especially using CBT can be life changing.

Testimonials

I would highly recommend Christina. She was so kind and empathetic at a time that I really needed it. I had lost a very close loved one in difficult circumstances and thought that I would never be able to think of them again without remembering the terrible first scenes. She was very patient and just talking through what I had experienced helped a lot. I am very grateful that I feel so much better.

Sarah

Christina was amazing helping with my anxiety, which had haunted me for a number of years. The anxiety started due to an unfortunate incident when I was younger and never really left me. After the treatment I could remember the incident without all the awful feelings that had previously come with it. It now feels like a new lease of life.

Jackie

I had had several previous therapeutic interventions but nothing really seemed to shift the anxious feelings. Therapy with Christina has really helped lessen my anxious thoughts and the physical symptoms that comes with them. I’m still a work in progress, but now I have techniques I can work with that I know make a real difference.

Mike

I was dealing with PTSD due to witnessing the death of a close relative and felt extremely low and anxious. I felt stuck. It did not take many therapy appointments before I started to notice a difference and that I was beginning to view the event from a different perspective. I am able to move on with my life now and remember my loved one without feeling anxious.

Working with Christina has been life changing. I never thought for one moment that I would change how I felt about my situation, but not only do I feel better and able to live life again, but I have also embarked on a course. For the first time in a long while I feel that I have some direction again.
