Welcome to Cognitive Clarity!
Hi I'm Christina and I am an integrative psychotherapist and I specialise in anxiety and trauma. I'm a qualified and accredited CBT therapist and alongside this I work with a variety of modalities; EMDR, hypnotherapy, breath work and mindfulness. I work from my therapy room in Tenterden, Kent and also work remotely.
CBT is an evidence-based therapy and numerous randomised controlled trials tell us that it is one of the most effective psychological therapies for anxiety and depression. It is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) as a first choice for a wide range of mental health issues.
CBT, EMDR and hypnotherapy allows you to begin to rewire your brain, the scientific word for this is neuroplasticity, so you can begin to function in a way that is more aligned with how you want to live and how you want to be.
I start therapy from the premise that I'm simply a human talking to you, another human and that I am fortunate enough to have information and techniques that can help you manage the issues you are coming into therapy to address. Ultimately, supporting you to make changes that allow you to live a life that is more balanced and fulfilling.

Small Steps & Hope
Often it's not possible to name exactly what it is that you are feeling, and you may only recognise that something does not feel right and life feels like a struggle.
Together we can explore what the issues are and work out what is keeping the problem going. Starting with small steps is generally the best way when making changes. Changes can feel uncomfortable at first, but we know that the best results tend to come when we face our fears and try something different.
I understand that everyone and their experiences are unique and that there are many components that make us who we are, and for that reason I use a holistic approach in my practice, personalising each session to meet the unique needs of each individual.
I believe that having hope is a very powerful tool and often we can feel we have lost all hope, which leaves us feeling defeated.... and hopeless! I can help you rediscover your hope for a better future and make changes to work towards the life you want.
